Martha Bowers

Martha Nadine Bowers of Uvalde passed away on August 12, 2017 at her residence at the age of 77. She was born on February 11, 1940 in Mercedes, Texas to Edith Bernice (Martin) and Otis Lee Northcutt. She married David Warren Bowers Sr. on March 30, 1961 in Weslaco, Texas.
She is survived by one daughter Christine June Bowers of Uvalde, Texas; two sons David Warren Bowers, Jr. and wife Daisy of Yuma, Arizona; and Edward Warren Bowers and wife, Michelle of Waddell, AZ; one brother Jack Northcutt and wife, Lois of Hendersonville, North Carolina; and five grandchildren Kaleb, Zachary, Hanna, Kayleigh, Micah Bowers and several nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her husband David Warren Bowers, Sr., parents Otis & Edith Northcutt, her sister Betty Lewis and brother Gene Northcutt.
Martha Bowers worked for the 25 years for the Uvalde CISD as a bilingual teacher in both first and third grade. She enjoyed gardening and quilting. She was always willing to lend a hand to friends and family. In accordance to her wishes there will be no service or memorial. Honor her by going out of your way to help someone.
