Martha Cantu

Martha Trevino Cantu of Batesville, Texas passed away on June 10, 2021 at Uvalde Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center at the age of 70.  She was born on May 8, 1951 in Uvalde to Melchor Trevino and Isidra Torres.

She is survived by her daughters, Ida C. Mercado of Batesville, Texas and LeeAnn Cantu of Uvalde, Texas; sons, Leandro Cantu of Andrews, Texas and Raul Cantu of Batesville, Texas; sister, Guadalupe Trevino of Batesville, Texas; 10 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents; son, Frank Cantu; sister, Hinia Trevino Cuevas and brothers, David Trevino and Melchor Trevino.

Visitation will begin on Friday, June 11, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. at Rushing-Estes-Knowles Mortuary with a recitation of the Holy Rosary at 7:00 p.m..  A funeral mass will be held on Saturday, June 12, 2021 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Batesville, Texas.  Interment will follow at Batesville Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be David Trevino, Joe Almaraz, Brian Platts, Robert Galindo, Isidro Cantu Jr., Juan  “Tito” Gonzales, Jerry Gonzales, and Jesse Alan Mercado
