Martin Cardenas

Martin Cardenas, age 52, passed away on Friday, May 5, 2017 in Uvalde. Mr. Cardenas was born on January 4, 1965 in Uvalde to Roberto and Concepcion (Rodriguez) Cardenas. Martin was Owner of Cardenas Electric, was a graduate of Uvalde High School, loved to play baseball,barbecue, and enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.
Martin is survived by son, Jose Cardenas and companion, Maria Gutierrez, Jacob Cruz and Jordon Cruz all of Uvalde; daughter Jae-Lynn Cruz of Uvalde; life partner Gloria Cruz of Uvalde; two sisters, Mary Jane Padilla of Del Rio and Alma Rendon and husband, Eluterio of Uvalde; brother, Jorge Rodriguez and wife, Carmela of Piedras Negras, Mexico; grandson, Jared Cardenas of Uvalde; nieces, Azannette Padilla, Beth Falcon and Concepcion Rodriguez and nephews, Alfred Padilla, Nano Rendon, Steve Rendon and Jesus Rodriguez. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Roberto Cardenas Jr.
A rosary will be held on Sunday, May 7, 2017 at 7:00 pm at Rushing-Estes-Knowles Mortuary, a Vigil will be held on Monday, May 8, 2017 at 7:00 pm at Rushing-Estes-Knowles Mortuary. A funeral mass will be held on Tuesday, May 9, 2017 at 1:00 p.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Burial will follow at Uvalde Catholic Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Los Tercos, Pete Trevino, Peter Garza, Joe Contreras, Johnny Guzman, Al Salinas and Dundee Chapoy.
