Martin Mendoza

Martin Papi M. Mendoza of La Pryor passed away on January 3, 2012 at Amistad Nursing Home in Uvalde at the age of 89. He was born on January 22, 1922 in Dilley, Texas to Martin and Gabina Mata Mendoza. He married Adelaida Vasquez on April 26, 1943 in La Pryor. He is survived by his wife of 68 years, daughters, Alicia Gonzales of Harlingen Anna Rojas of La Pryor Estella Avila Florinda De La Cruz both of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Amelia Esquivel of Cedarburg, Wisconsin, Azalia Mendoza of Grafton, Wisconsin sons, Martin Mendoza III of Harlingen and Roy Mendoza of Irvine, California and 29 grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his daughter Diana Mendoza and 2 grandsons. A rosary will be held on Thursday January 5, 2012 and Friday January 6, 2012 at 7:00 p.m.at the RushingEstesKnowles Chapel. Funeral services will be held on Saturday January 7, 2012 at 1:00 p.m. at St. Josephs Catholic Church in La Pryor. Burial will follow at La Pryor Cemetery.
