Martina V. Lopez of Uvalde passed away on March 2, 2019 in San Antonio at the age of 84. She was born on May 6, 1934 in Dripping Springs, Texas to Teodoro and Encarnacion (Falcon) Valenzuela. She married Reynaldo P. Lopez in Uvalde on December 28, 1950.
She is survived by her husband of 68 years of Uvalde; daughter, Abigail Flores and husband, Ruben and Annette Mendeke and husband, Charlie all of Uvalde; sisters, Lucia Hidalgo of Odessa and Virginia Rendon of San Antonio; brother, Tomas Valenzuela and Catarino Valenzuela both of Camp Wood; 9 grandchildren, including Mavis Valdez, Denise Prado and Deanne Prado, 26 great grandchildren; 6 great-great grandchildren; son in law, Manuel De Leon of Yancey, and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Laban De Leon; sisters, Elsa De Leon, Cristella Valenzuela, Francisca Valenzuela, and Adelita Valenzuela; brothers, Claudio Valenzuela and Fidel Valenzuela.
Visitation will begin on Tuesday at 3:00 p.m. at Rushing-Estes-Knowles Mortuary. A rosary will be held on Tuesday and Wednesday at 7:00 p.m. at Rushing-Estes-Knowles Mortuary. A funeral mass will be held on Thursday, March 7, 2019 at 10:00 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Hillcrest Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Ruben Flores, Jr., Aldo Ray Flores, John Arredondo, Charles B. Mendeke, Christopher Prado and Sabastian Valdez.
