Marvin Boyd

Mr. Marvin James Boyd of CampWood, Texas. passed away October 22, 2007 in Life Care Hospital in San Antonio, Texas at the age of 79.

He was born January 15, 1928 in Glasscock County, Texas to Scott Martha Boyd.

He lost his mother at the young age of 12 and was on his own at 14. He spent much of his life in the Big Spring area where he met and married Lavenia Faye Long on May 24, 1946. They moved to the Hill Country in 1978 where she preceded him in death in 1988.

He then married Demerita Beagle Pletcher on June 3, 1989.

He is survived by his wife, Demerita Boyd of Riverton, Kansas; daughters, Ellen Barefoot husband, Ed; Carol Self husband, E.J., all of Big Spring, Texas; sons, Jim Boyd wife, Brenda of Vanderpool, Texas Phil Boyd wife, Darlean of Melvin, Texas; 3 step-sons, J.J. Pletcher wife, Joan of Florida; Rock Pletcher wife, Barbara of Dallas; Zale Pletcher of San Antonio, Texas; 2 step-daughters, Ermarita Sissy Urick of Alvin, Texas Karen Grimmer husband, Savoy of Riverton, Kansas; 8 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; 11 step-grandchildren; 13 step-great grandchildren 1 step-great-great grandchild.

In addition to his first wife, he was also preceded in death by his parents, 1 sister 2 brothers.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, October 25, 2007 at 10:00 am at the Trinity Full Gospel Church in CampWood, Texas. Interment will follow in CampWood Cemetery. Rev. Carroll Vernor Rev. Myrtle Carney will be officiating.

Pallbearers will be Kelly Stevenson; Kevin Boyd; Scott Boyd, Aaron Mullins J.W. Kitchens.

Memorials may be made to Gideons International or to the charity of ones choice.
