Mary T. "Guera" Avalos of Uvalde passed away on September 28, 2018 at Uvalde Memorial Hospital at the age of 75. She was born on June 22, 1943 in Uvalde to Tomas Mata Avalos and Santos Chavez Torres.
She loved to play the Pigskin football contest in the Uvalde Leader News.
She is survived by her husband, Cipriano Galindo of Uvalde; son, Mario Javier "MJ" Miller of College Station and Brezlyn Shae Barthelemy of Uvalde; sister, Carmen Alvarado and husband, Reynaldo of Uvalde; brother, Jose T. Avalos and wife, Carmen of Schertz; special niece, Anna Alamillo McAdams of Uvalde, special nephew, Ricardo Alamillo of Boerne; aunt, Romana A. Gonzales of Uvalde and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her sisters, Vasalisa "Nena" Cruz and Vicenta "Chenta" Avalos Alamillo; brothers, Tomas Avalos, Jr., Fidel Avalos and Alfredo T. Avalos.

Visitation will begin on Monday at 3:00 p.m. at Rushing-Estes-Knowles Mortuary. A rosary will be held on Monday and Tuesday at 7:00 p.m. with a funeral mass to be held on Wednesday, October 3, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Hillcrest Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be JR Guevara, Cruz "Chicho" Rodriguez, Agusto "Gus" Estrada, Eddy Oakley, Ricardo Almaras, Eddie Rodriguez, Alfredo Avalos, Jr., TJ Avalos and Joe Contreras.
