Mary Dale Brewer, born on July 29, 1942, in Uvalde, Texas, passed away peacefully on August 31, 2024, at The Veranda.
She devoted an exemplary 31 years of service to the Uvalde Independent School District, where her impact on the lives of countless students and colleagues will be fondly remembered.
She married the love of her life, Gerald Brewer on July 12, 1963 in Uvalde, Texas.
Mary was a cherished matriarch to her family. She leaves behind two sons, Gerald William Russel Brewer and his wife, Katherine, of Palo Alto, California, and Thomas Richard Raymond Brewer and his wife, Carol, of Uvalde. Her love extended to her grandchildren, who brought her immense joy: Baxter Brewer and his wife, Haley; Brian Hill and his wife, Vianie; Leaha Brewer; Hannah Watkins; Hagen Watkins; Colten Hoffman; and Briie Hoffman. Additionally, she was blessed with great-grandchildren Jack Hill and Heston Watkins, who were a source of happiness in her later years. Mary also shared a close bond with her sister, Linda McAdams, of Uvalde, as well as numerous nieces and nephews who cherished her deeply.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; and two sisters, Frances Williams and Hazel Baylor.
A memorial service to celebrate Mary’s life will be held on September 14, 2024, at St. Philip's Episcopal Church in Uvalde, Texas. The service will begin at 10:30 AM.
Mary Dale Brewer will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her, and her legacy of kindness and dedication will endure through the lives she touched.
