A lifelong resident of Concan, Texas, Mary Tom Neal Buchanan passed away on November 07, 2014 at her home overlooking the Frio River.
She was born on December 19, 1920 in Concan to Tom M. Neal and Vida Inez Thrift Neal.
She attended Southwestern University in Georgetown, Texas and graduated in 1941.
Mary Tom Neal married John S. Buchanan on September 26, 1945 at the Neal home in Concan.
They resided in McCamey, Texas a few years before moving to Uvalde in 1949. They returned to Concan in 1966 where they spent the rest of their lives.
She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, and sister Vida Helen Billie Graves, who resided in Uvalde.
She is survived by her children, daughters, Mary Anna Roosa and husband Rodger, Helen Burgin and husband Larry, Susan Stone and husband B. J., son, John Thomas Buchanan and wife Noreen.
She is also survived by 13 grandchildren, Chase Roosa, Cathy Brock and husband Mike, Jo Anna Walker and husband Derek, Jeff Cook, Shannah Andersen and husband Michael, Shane Burgin and wife April, Trent Stone and wife Brandi, Jenny Dixon and husband Michael, Brandon Stone and wife Celeste, Sophie Buchanan, Sydney Buchanan, Sarah Buchanan, and Joe Buchanan and wife April.
17 greatgrandchildren, Ellie Roosa, Jack, Mary Claire, and Chloe Brock, Anna Cate, Westin, and Reed Walker, Addison and Grant Burgin, Anna and Blake Andersen, Landon and Lucia Dixon, Dylan and Autumn Stone, Jackson Stone, Nathan Buchanan, and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Pallbearers will be Chase Roosa, Michael Dixon, Michael Andersen, Trent Stone, Brandon Stone, Derek Walker, Jeff Cook, and Joe Buchanan.
Honorary pallbearers are Rodger Roosa, B. J. Stone, Larry Burgin, Mike Brock, Chris Prickett, Johnny Graves, and Brian Graves.

The family will have Prayers for the Vigil at the RushingKnowlesEstes Mortuary Thursday , November 13 at 4:15PM, followed by an opportunity for Mrs. Buchanans friends to greet the family from 5:00PM to 7:00PM.
Funeral will be held Friday, November 14th at 10:30AM. at the Concan Baptist Mission with graveside services at the Concan Cemetery immediately afterward.
The family suggests memorials to any charitable organization of your choosing.
