Mary Canales

Mary O. Canales of Del Rio, formerly of Uvalde passed away on January 18, 2013 at Val Verde Medical Regional Center in Del Rio at the age of 84. She was born on January 10, 1929 in Brackettville, Texas to Blas and Emily Castro Olvera. She is survived by her son, Gerardo O. Canales of Apple River, Illinois brothers, Richard Olvera of Brackettville and Claude C. Olvera of Arlington 2 grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents husband, Ygnacio Pedro Canales Jr. sisters, Leticia Acosta and Alice Garcia and brother, Charles C. Olvera. A rosary will be held on Wednesday, January 23, 2013 at the RushingEstesKnowles Chapel at 7:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, January 24, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Cemetery.
