Mary Lou Gibson of Uvalde passed away on September 19, 2016 at her residence at the age of 87 surrounded by family. She was born on August 10, 1929 in Burnet, TX to Lloyd Fry and Hazel Howell Fry. She married Robert Lee Gibson, Jr. in Uvalde on October 14, 1946. Mary retired from UCISD after serving as the first secretary at Dalton School. She then worked at Uvalde Junior High School, and later became secretary to the superintendent of schools. She was an honorary member of Delta Kappa Gamma. She worked as the Getty St. Church of Christ secretary for two years before returning to Uvalde Junior High School as secretary. Mary is survived by her husband of almost 70 years; daughters, Sharon Snow and Karen Tidwell, both of Uvalde; brother, Haldon Fry of Uvalde; grandchildren, Cindy Motley and husband, Jeff; Christy Price and husband, David; Everett Ogburn and wife, Nicole; Glenda Snow; Rollie Snow and wife, Karyn; and Randy Snow; great-grandchildren, Jeyson Price, Kaili Price, Trinity Ogburn, Faith Ogburn, Peyton Motley, and Brianna, Evelyn, Morgan, Allison, and Rollie Snow; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Roland Fry; sister, Blanche Foster; and son-in-law, Roy Snow. According to the family, Mary Lou "Honey" will be missed by many. They stated that she was a Godly servant with a heart of gold. Graveside services will be held on Saturday, September 24, 2016 at 11:00 AM in Uvalde Cemetery.
