Mary Lee Kolinek Haby passed away on May 12, 2010 at Amistad Nursing Home in Uvalde at the age of 77. She was preceded in death by her parents, Edwin Kolinek and Mary Edna Lee Kolinek. She is survived by her husband, Tom V. Haby of Spofford, Texas her son and daughterinlaw Chip and Kasey Haby, grandson, Tillman Haby, and granddaughter, Sarah Dean Haby all of Atascosa, Texas brother, Bill Ed Kolinek of Uvalde, Texas, cousin, Marvin Kolinek and wife Shirla of Uvalde, Texas and numerous nieces and nephews. She was born in Kenedy, Texas on October 14, 1932. The family moved to Uvalde at an early age. She graduated from Uvalde High School in the class of 1950. She received her B.S. degree in Homemaking from Southwest State College and an L.L.D. degree from Sul Ross. She taught school for 42 years, in Asherton, Uvalde, Nueces Canyon, Knippa, La Pryor, Terlingua, Rocksprings, and Brackettville. She retired in 1998. She spent many happy hours fishing and hunting arrowheads on the Red Shed Ranch. According to her family she was a loving sister, daughter, teacher, wife, mother, grandmother, Christian and friend. She was a member of the Church of the Ascencion in Montell, Texas. Graveside services will be held on Saturday, May 15, 2010 at 10:00 AM in Uvalde Cemetery. Rev. Nick Mayer will officiate.
