Mary Walker

Mary Aline Walker of La Pryor passed away on August 10, 2014 in Amistad Nursing Home at the age of 97. She was born on March 17, 1917 in Keegan, Maine to Emily Moreau Theriault and Thade Theriault. She married Seymour Earl Walker on October 30, 1948 in the Canadian Province of New Brunswick. They moved to La Pryor in 1951. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in La Pryor. Aline worked for 20 years for the La Pryor Independent School District. After retiring, she became a member of the Uvalde Memorial Hospital Auxiliary and was a member for 22 years. One of the highlights of each week was to drive to Uvalde every Monday to volunteer at the hospital gift shop. She is survived by one son, John Earl Walker of Scottsdale, Arizona three sisters, Jeanne Somerville of Trenton, Ontario Canada Geraldine Theriault and Bertha Theriault, both of Montreal, Quebec Canada and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents husband and three sisters, Mary Simone Lane Juliet Exner and Germaine Cormier. A rosary will be held on Wednesday, August 13, 2014 at 7:00 pm at RushingEstesKnowles Mortuary. Graveside services will be held on August 14, 2014 at 10:00 AM at Uvalde Cemetery. Fr. Gustavo Ortega will officiate.
