Mary Jane Winn of Uvalde passed away on March 11, 2011 in Methodist Hospital in San Antonio, Texas at the age of 75. She was born on February 17, 1936 in Crystal City, Texas to Joe and Royce Carr Ferguson. She married Vaughn Billy Alexander Winn Jr. in Uvalde, Texas on December 17, 1956. She was a graduate of Eagle Pass High School where she was head drum major and voted most beautiful. She later graduated from Sul Ross State University with an education degree. She taught school for many years in the Uvalde school system. She is survived by her husband of 54 years Billy Winn of Uvalde, Texas one daughter, Dana Winn Carnes of Houston, Texas one son, Wes Winn and wife, Kathy of Baytown, Texas one sister, Jo Ann F. Bibb of Del Rio, Texas grandchildren: Jodi Carnes, Jami Carnes, Wesley Winn, Jeri Hopper, Randy Hopper and wife, Kim sisterinlaw, Becky Winn Rhode numerous nieces and nephews. Her dear, longtime friend, Marian Stafford Sinclair, also survives her. She was preceded in death by her parents and dear friend, Barbara Harper Gaines. At the age of one, Mary Jane and her family moved to Eagle Pass. It was there she met and became lifelong friends with Marian and Barbara. Each summer they would go to Barbaras Mexico ranch Azulejo and spend their summers at the Hacienda and going to the cow camps with Barbaras father. Graveside services will be held on Monday March 14, 2011 at 2:00 PM in Uvalde Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Wesley Winn, Bub Winn, Bobby Reynolds, Jimmy Carnes, Bart McLaughlin, and Robert Wagnon. Honorary pallbearers will be Robert Hines, Floyd Collins, Laney Leinweber, Hollis London, Haygood Gulley, Victor John Neimeyer, and Joe Strickland.
