Melquiades Olivares, Sr.

Melquiades M. Olivares, Sr. of Michigan, formerly of Sabinal, passed away on August 2, 2012 in Las Vegas, New Mexico at the age of 85. He was born in Knippa on December 10, 1926 to Eloisa and Antonio Olivares, Jr. He married Lilla Arredondo in Uvalde on March 14, 1953. He is survived by his wife of 59 years daughter, Guadalupe O. Vasquez and husband, Richard of Flint, MI three sons, Melquiades Olivares, Jr. M.D. of Las Vegas, NM Gilberto Olivares, M.D. and wife, Carol of Kalamazoo, MI and Sgt. Jesse James Olivares of Ft. Hood, TX two sisters, Teresa Rodriguez of San Angelo and Isabel Rodriguez of Whitney, TX 10 grandchildren, 3 greatgrandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents sisters, Eloisa Lara, Augustina Luna, and Benina Olivares and brothers, Frank, Antonio, Ricardo, Bentura, Juan, and Alifonso Olivares. Funeral services will be held on Monday, August 6, 2012 at 4:00 PM at St. Patricks Catholic Church in Sabinal with burial to follow in Sabinal Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Johnny Olivares Fernando Garcia Albert Arredondo Richard Vasquez Melquiades Olivares, Jr. M.D. Gilberto Olivares, M.D. and Sgt. Jesse James Olivares.
