Melvin Ray

Melvin Darrell Ray of Uvalde passed away on February 11, 2009 in Village Oaks Assistance Living in San Antonio, Texas at the age of 91. He was born on July 28, 1917 in Gary, Texas to Albert and Eva Ray. He married Elizabeth Ann Cribbs in Crystal City, Texas on June 7, 1940. He is survive by two daughters; Patricia Adams and Helen Copeland both of San Antonio; three grandchildren and seven great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers; Albert and Temple Ray; great grandson; Patrick Copeland; and one nephew; Jack Ray. Graveside services will be held at 1:00 PM on Sunday, February 15, 2009 in Hillcrest Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Sam Adams, Les Bishop, Lynn Copeland, Eric Copeland, Aubrey Raiford, and Steven Langley. Honorary Pallbearers will be John Ash and Charles Langley.
