Miguel "Mike" Zamora

Miguel “Mike” Zamora Jr, age 54 passed away on Sunday, August 1, 2020 at Carson Tahoe Regional Medical Center in Carson City, Nevada. Michael was born on August 11, 1965 in Uvalde, Texas to Miguel and Estella (Olivarez) Zamora. He is survived by his loving parents Miguel and Estella Zamora of Uvalde, Texas, His children, Emily Mayse (Chris) of Houston, Texas, Miguel Zamora, Zacarias Zamora, and Gabriella Zamora of Carson City, Nevada, His sister Gloria Ligocky (Eddie) of Corpus Christi Texas, nephew George Ligocky (Leslie) of Corpus Christi Texas, nieces Sarah and Madelyn Treviño, great nephew Blake Ligocky and great niece Hailey Ligocky.  He is preceded in death by his maternal grandparents Alifonso and Maria Olivarez of Knippa, Texas and paternal grandparents Santiago and Santos Zamora of Uvalde Texas.

Mike’s passion for his work in the grocery retail business, the Hispanic market in particular, led him and his family to experience various parts of the United States and Mexico doing what he loved the most, which was serving people. His heart was always longing for being in the outdoors where he would enjoy adventures of hunting, fishing, hiking and spending quality time with his children.

Visitation will begin on Sunday at 3:00 p.m. followed by a rosary at 6:00 p.m. at Rushing-Estes-Knowles Mortuary.

A funeral mass will be held on Monday, August 10, 2020 at 2:00 p.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church.  Interment will follow at Sabinal Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Miguel Zamora III, Zacarias Zamora, George Ligocky III, Gilbert Zamora Jr., Fernando Garcia and Chris Mayse.

*100-person maximum can be accommodated at the funeral chapel at a time for Visitation. Upon entering the funeral home, requirements are that social distancing of 6’ feet is practiced as well as a mask to be worn for every person in the building.

*150-person maximum can be accommodated at Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church. Upon entering the Church, requirements are that social distancing of 6’ feet is practiced as well as a mask to be worn for every person in the building.
