Mike Oliver Aviles, Sr. of Uvalde passed away on August 14, 2019 in San Antonio at the age of 65 He was born on November 12, 1953 in Uvalde to Jose and Julia (Oliver) Aviles.
He is survived by his parents of Uvalde; sons, Mike Aviles, Jr. and wife, Deanna, Steven Aviles and wife, Emily Beth all of Lubbock and Jacob Aviles of Tempe, Arizona; sisters, Dolores Aviles, STJ, Ana Maria Decious and husband, Paul of Jacksonville, and Mary I. Aviles of Daingerfield; brother, John Aviles and wife, Patricia of Uvalde; grandchildren, Kandra Aviles, Mya Aviles, Rene Aviles, Nathan Aviles, Anasia Aviles and Melody Aviles.
He is preceded in death by his brother, Fr. Jose A. Aviles, Jr.
Visitation will begin on Saturday, August 17, 2019 at 5:00 p.m. at Rushing-Estes-Knowles Mortuary. A rosary will be held on Saturday and Sunday at 7:00 p.m. at Rushing-Estes-Knowles Mortuary. A funeral mass will be held on Monday, August 19, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Uvalde Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Steven Aviles, Mike Aviles, Jr., Raul Vasquez, Frank Alejandro, Albert Ybarra and Tony Lomas.
