Mildred E. Wilson Pope, 89, of Batesville died on November 9, 2015 at Uvalde Memorial Hospital.
She was born on April 29, 1926 in Lockhart, Texas to Arthur Lee (Dip) Wilson and Mary (West) Wilson.
She married John Lewis Pope in Uvalde on August 21, 1944.
Mildred was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers, John Bruce (J.B.) Wilson, Carl James (Jim) Wilson, and Clifton Eugene Wilson; and two sisters, Elnora (Snookie) Luce, and Frances Postell.
She is survived by five daughters, Joni Lou Tollett and husband Tommy of Camp Wood, Millie L. Pope of Batesville, Altia Kay Burns and husband Dale of Uvalde, Janie Roberson and husband Mike of Pleasanton, Texas, and Kathy Duffy and husband Mike of Galveston; eleven grandchildren, and their spouses, 33 great grandchildren, eleven great-great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, November 11, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. at Rushing-Estes-Knowles Mortuary followed by burial in Hillcrest Cemetery in Uvalde. Officiating the services will be Brother Jerry Fortune of the Batesville Baptist Church.
Pallbearers will be Mildred's grandsons, Skip Tollett, Cameron Tollett, Lynn Tollett, Jr., Jason Burns, Winton Roberson, Clinton Roberson, Tulley Thompson, and Jordan Burns. Honorary pallbearers will include many of her great grandsons.
