Minerva Torres

Minerva Garcia Torres of Uvalde passed away on July 7, 2014 at her residence at the age of 85. She was born on July 16, 1928 in Devine to Eliseo and Maria Guajardo Garcia. She is survived by her daughter, Maria Lugo and husband Lee Sr son, Abelardo Castillo sisters, Elva Ibarra and Edna Hernandez brother, Willie Garcia Sr. grandchildren, Orlando Castillo and wife Spring Lee Wick and husband Michael, Rolando Castillo and wife Amy, Marisa Castillo, Venisa Desnoyers and husband Andre, Marisela Lugo and Abelardo Lalito Castillo 9 great grandchildren, 4 greatgreat grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents husband, Leocadio Torres brothers, Ben Garcia and Esquiel Garcia sister, Susana Enriquez and grandson, Eleazar Lee Lugo Jr. A rosary will be held on Tuesday and a vigil on Wednesday at 7:00 p.m. at RushingEstesKnowles Mortuary. A funeral mass will be held on Thursday, July 10, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Joe Gonzales, Jessie Esequivel, Michael Hernandez, Joe Ibarra Jr., Willie Garcia Jr. and Eloy Garcia. Honorary pallbearers will be her great grandsons, Keith Curtis, Andre Desnoyers, Anthony Lugo, August Castillo, Jake Castillo and Christian Wick.
