Morgan G. Shorty Schuerg of Knippa passed away on August 21, 2011 in Amistad Nursing Home at the age of 87. He was born on April 23, 1924 in Lockhart, TX to Albert and Paula Schaefer Schuerg. Morgan married Dorothy Cochran on August 20, 1945 in Austin, TX. She preceded him on November 3, 2002 in Knippa, TX. He was also preceded in death by his parents brothers, Herman Schuerg of Lockhart and William Bill Schuerg of Lake Wylie, S. Carolina and sisters, Helen Schuerg Evans and Doris Schuerg Pittman, both of Lockhart, TX. Morgan is survived by his only brother, Alvin Al Schuerg and wife, Joyce of Seguin, TX. Morgan worked many years at the Sunny Cline Farms in Knippa training race horses as a Jockey. He was in a TV commercial many years ago for Falstaff beer. According to the family, he was a quiet, gentle man and had many friends in the Knippa and Uvalde area. Graveside services will be held on Thursday, August 25, 2011 at 2:30 PM at the Knippa Cemetery. Mr. Paul Stephens will officiate.
