Murffy Don Butler of Uvalde passed away on February 24, 2019 in San Antonio at the age of 75. He was born on July 14, 1943 in Hedley, TX to Sibyl Ruby (Reding) and William Henry Butler. He married Royce Toler in 1980 in Uvalde. He is survived by his wife of 38 years; mother, Sybil Ruby Butler of Lone Oak, TX; son, Tony Butler of Wentzville, MO; daughter, LeAn Watson of La Vernia, TX; stepson, Lamar Courtney of Uvalde; stepdaughters, Sheri Patterson of San Angelo; and Charla Helbig and husband, Lawrence, Jr. of Silver City, NM; brother, Dwight Butler of Hanford, CA; sisters, Analita Ray and husband, Ron of Lone Oak, TX; Rutha Drawe and husband, Richard of Progeso, TX; Jerry Covington and husband, Stanley of Athens TX; and Lorah Green and husband, Tony of Plainview, TX; grandchildren, Paula Watson, Steven Butler and wife, Suzanne, David Butler and wife, Lisa Marie, and Michael Butler; stepgrandchildren, Meagan Buck and husband, Grant, Jason Helbig, Samantha Eubanks and husband, Jeremy, Garrett Courtney, Will Courtney, and Erika Courtney; and numerous beloved great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father; brothers, Laramie Joe Butler and Ellis Butler and wife, Sandra; and grandson, Grant Watson. Funeral services will be held on Friday, March 1, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. at Rushing-Estes-Knowles Mortuary with burial to follow in Hillcrest Cemetery. Wayne Whiteaker will officiate. Pallbearers will be Lamar Courtney, Garrett Courtney, David Butler, Ron Ray, Lawrence Helbig, Jr., and John Vollbrecht.
