Myrtle Irene Murph was born in Cedar Bayou, Harris County, Texas on July 17, 1914 to Robert Wilford Barkuloo and Blanche Myrtle Shaw Barkuloo. She passed away on November 24, 2007 in San Antonio. While she was a young girl, the family moved to Hondo where she graduated from high school, and later taught in the area. In 1937, she married Claude Herman Murph. They had one son, Wayne. Her husband was a minister in the Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son, and a sister, Wilma Weber. She is survived by her daughter-in-law, Carol Murph of Uvalde; granddaughter, Jody Bullard and husband, Clyde of Carrizo Springs; grandson, Andy Murph and wife, Dee of Bryan; great-grandchildren, Heather, Laura, and Stephanie Bullard of Carrizo Springs and Cody and Colten Murph of Bryan; sister, Evelyn Creel and husband, Lin of Temple; nieces and nephews, including Brenda Creel Stockton of Austin and Clifford Creel of New Hampshire; and great-nieces and nephews; and great-great niece and nephews. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, November 28, 2007 at 1:00 PM at the First United Methodist Church in Uvalde with the Rev. Scott Bradford officiating, followed by entombment at Mission Burial Park North, San Antonio, Texas. Memorial donations may be made to the First United Methodist Church, 301 N. High St., Uvalde, TX 78801, or to the charity of one's choice.
