Nasario R. DeHoyos of San Antonio passed away at Christus Sister Mary Hospice in San Antonio on August 26, 2012 at the age of 82. He was born on March 1, 1930 in Del Rio to Librado and Maria Rangel DeHoyos.
He joined the Army in 1952 then moved to Boston where he married Ella Mae Vasquez on February 20, 1982. They lived there for 16 years then moved to San Antonio in 1994. He is survived by his wife of 30 years, stepchildren, Irene Pineda and husband Antonio, Virginia Limon and husband Leo, Richard Rodriguez and wife Veronica all of Uvalde, Arturo Rodriguez and wife Emma of Kerrville, Gilbert Rodriguez and wife Lluvia, Rosalio Rodriguez and Mary Ella Charles and husband Gilbert all of San Antonio, sisters, Chonita Serna, Helen Garcia and husband Fred, Teresa Garza brothers, Rey Garza and wife Gloria, Pete Garza and wife Amelia and Nick Garza and wife Sally all of San Antonio and numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Librado De Hoyos, Johnny De Hoyos, Joe Garza, sister, Lupe Flores brother in law, Arnulfo Serna. A rosary will be held on Tuesday August 28, 2012 at 7:00 p.m. at the RushingEstesKnowles Mortuary. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday August 29, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Cemetery. Pallbearers will be David Gonzales, David Pineda, Leo Limon, Alejandro Torres, Ray Garza and Pete Garza.
