Nellie Pannell

Nellie Frances Pannell went to be with the Lord on April 30, 2011, at the age of 96. She was born July 4, 1914, in Neuville, Texas

Her childhood was spent on a ranch on Bullhead Creek. She graduated from Vance School and Draughns Business College in San Antonio. She married Buster Pannell January 1, 1936. After several years and many careers she moved back to Vance where she was mayor and looked after her beloved town.

She was preceded in death by her husband, A. C. Buster Pannell, parents, Charles R. Teda McManus, 2 brothers, Alvin Marion McManus.

She is survived by a son, Chuck Pannell and wife, Pam of Georgetown, Texas, daughter, Patti McKee, husband, Cal of Tulsa, Oklahoma, and daughter, Judy Sweeten of Uvalde, Texas, one granddaughter Meredith Lanning and husband Chris of Katy, Texas, two greatgrandsons Cole and Zachary, and numerous nieces nephews.

Graveside services will be held on Thursday, May 5, at the Vance Cemetery at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Nueces Canyon EMS in Campwood Texas or a charity of your choice.
