Nicolas Ruiz Jr.

Nicolas "Nick" Ruiz Jr. of Uvalde passed away on Sunday, November 27, 2016 in San Antonio at the age of 68. Mr. Ruiz was born on March 9, 1948 to Teresa (Arredondo) and Nicolas Ruiz Sr. He survived by two sisters, Dora Ocasio of Uvalde and Minerva Smijkowski and husband Edmund of Chicago, Illinois; one brother, Henry Ruiz of Milwaukee, Wisconsin; numerous cousins, nieces and nephews. Mr. Ruiz is preceded in death by his parents, brother-in-law Luis Ocasio. A prayer service will be held on Saturday, December 3, 2016 at 7:00 pm at Rushing-Estes-Knowles Mortuary. Graveside services will be held on Sunday, December 4, 2016 at 3:00 pm at Hillcrest Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Joseph Barber, Adam Ocasio, Angel Ocasio, Sabino Alvarez, Luis Vasquez, Henry Ruiz, Sr.
