Ninfa Reyes Garcia

Ninfa Reyes Garcia, 92, of Uvalde died November 1, 2023, at Uvalde Memorial Hospital. 

She was born on October 31, 1931, in Uvalde to Teresa (Flores) and Fermin Reyes. 

She married Edmundo Garcia in Uvalde on January 22, 1952.

She is survived by her daughter, Carmela Cano and husband, Antonio of Uvalde; son, Rene Garcia of Uvalde; two sisters, Elisa Canales and Herlinda Reyes both of Uvalde; two brothers, Jose Reyes of Uvalde and Rev. Raul Reyes of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; 7 grandchildren; 23 great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. 

She is preceded in death by her husband; parents; son, Edmundo Gilbert Garcia; granddaughter, Candace Teresa Garcia; and two brothers, Miguel F. Reyes; and Alejandro F. Reyes.

Visitation will be Sunday, Nov. 5, 2023, from 12 p.m. to 9 p.m. with a rosary at 7 p.m. at Rushing-Estes-Knowles Mortuary. 

A funeral Mass will be held Monday, Nov. 6,2023 at 10:00 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with interment to follow at Hillcrest Cemetery. 

Pallbearers will be Jerry Torres, Jimmy Martinez, Rene Garcia, II, Jason Eric Garcia, Jonathan Garcia, Gabriel Garcia, and Edmundo Fermin Cano.
