Onofre Sotelo, Jr.

Onofre Chello Sotelo, Jr. of Uvalde passed away on June 9, 2013 at Amistad Nursing Home in Uvalde at the age of 90. He was born on December 9, 1922 in Sabinal, Texas to Onofre and Josefina Lopez Sotelo, Sr. He is survived by his daughters, Santos S. Saldana and husband Amaro of Greenbay, Wisconsin Herlinda S. Castro and husband Joe, Estella S. Sanchez and husband Luis, Irma S. Gomez and husband Fred, Josefina Sotelo, all of Uvalde, Elida S. Schultz and husband Robert of San Antonio, and Rebecca Mendoza and husband Luis of South Bay, Florida sons, Jose Sotelo and wife Cyndi of Greenbay, Wisconsin, Rudy Sotelo and wife Arlene of Portales, Mexico, Richard Onofre Sotelo, and Ricardo V. Sotelo and wife Thelma all of Uvalde 49 grandchildren 114 great grandchildren and 25 greatgreat grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents wife, Augustina Vasquez daughter, Consuelo S. Perez brothers, Clemente Sotelo, Gustavo Sotelo, Alberto Sotelo and Saul Sotelo sister, Isidra Ortiz and grandson, Tony Sanchez. A rosary will be held on Thursday and Friday at 7:00 p.m. at RushingEstesKnowles Mortuary. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, July 13, 2013 at 9:30 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Luis Sanchez Jr., Jonathan Sanchez, Raul Sotelo, Joe Alvarado, Alberto Gomez, and Ricardo Gomez.
