Ora Carter

Ora Mae Carter of Leakey, went to be with her Lord on July 11, 2008, in Cheyenne, Wyoming at the age of 88.

Mrs. Carter was born April 6, 1920, in Waxahachie, Texas. She married S. E. Sport Carter in Lufkin on October 21, 1938. She retired from Sears Credit office in 1982. She and Sport then moved to Leakey and she became a Sunday School teacher at First Baptist Church, then later at Frio Canyon Baptist.

She is survived by one daughter, Joyce and husband Victor Jaeggli of Leakey; three grandsons, Robert Jaeggli and wife, Angila of Moscow, Idaho; James Carter and wife, Donna of Leakey; Clifford Carter of Leakey; and one granddaughter, Mary Ludwig and husband, Sid of Cheyenne, Wyoming; one great-grandson, Victor Ludwig; and three great-granddaughters; Cassie Carter, Sydney Carter, and Alicia Scott and family. Mrs. Carter is also survived by sister, Naomi Jones of Zavala, Texas. Numerous nieces and nephews.

Preceded in death by her Dad and Mom, husband, son, Donald Carter Sr. and grandson, Donald Carter, Jr. and two sisters.

Graveside Services will be held Tuesday, July 15, 2008 at 10:30 am Leakey Cemetery, services conducted by Art Maguire.
