Orvel Casey

Orvel Vern O.V. Casey of Uvalde passed away on June 14, 2008 at his residence at the age of 86. He was born on May 16, 1922 in Oklahoma City, OK to John Wesley and Minnie Ella Swrigley Casey. He married Alma Hamilton in McAllen, TX on July 18, 1950. He is survived by his wife of 57 years; two sons, Glenn Casey and wife, Pat; and David Casey, all of Uvalde; two daughters, Arlene Nichols and husband, Richard of East Lansing, Michigan; and Barbara Oliver and husband, Gary of Glenwood Springs, CO; brother, Jim Casey of Uvalde; and 14 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by 2 sons, Jack Batchelor and Jimmie Wayne Casey; and two sisters, Faye Healer and Dixie McKinney. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, June 17, 2008 at 2:00 PM at the Rushing-Estes-Knowles Chapel with burial to follow in Hillcrest Cemetery. Rev. Justin Chessher will officiate. Pallbearers will be Russel Burns, Julian Garza, Gene Davidson, Ernest Hinojosa, Lupe Mirelez, and Armando Flores. Memorial donations may be made to the Uvalde Hospice, 1038B Garner Field Rd., Uvalde, TX 78801 or to the charity of one's choice.
