Oscar “Shotgun” Albarado of Uvalde passed away on Wednesday, February 17, 2021 at Amistad Nursing Home at the age of 72. He was born on September 15, 1948 in Pecos, Texas to Juan and Julia (Canales) Albarado.
He is survived by his daughter, Angela Albarado Elemen of Denton; sons, Oscar Albarado, Jr. and wife, Irma of San Antonio, Emmanuel Albarado and wife, Elizabeth of Gainesville, and Jacob Albarado and wife, Trish of Uvalde; sister Guadalupe Albarado of Uvalde; brothers, Evaristo Albarado and wife, Benita also of Uvalde, Domingo Albarado of San Antonio and Juan “June” Albarado of Austin; thirteen grandchildren, Marc Anthony Montes, Kimberly Albarado, Katie Albarado, Samantha Albarado, Alyssa Elemen, Alexis Elemen, Alayna Elemen, Evangeline Albarado, Emmanuel Elijah Albarado, Emiliana Albarado, Jacob Zachary Albarado, Jordan Albarado and Jayda Albarado; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. He is preceded in death by his parents.
Visitation will begin on Sunday, February 21, 2021 at 1:00 p.m. followed by a prayer service at 7:00 p.m. at Rushing-Estes-Knowles Mortuary. A funeral service will be held on Monday, February 22, 2021 at 12:00 p.m. at Templo Cristiano.
Pallbearers will be Oscar Albarado Jr., Emmanuel Albarado, Jacob Albarado, Jacob Zachary Albarado, Juan "June" Albarado, Domingo Albarado. Honorary pallbearers will be Evaristo Albarado, Jordan Albarado and Emmanuel Elijah Albarado.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to The Oscar Albarado Memorial Fund, IBC Bank of Uvalde. Routing #14902612, Account # 1412328144. Memorial donations made will be used in hopes of an Oscar Albarado memorial statue and to the Tree City Boxing Club.
