Oscar Castaneda, Jr.

Oscar C. Castaneda, Jr. of Uvalde passed away on January 30, 2016 in San Antonio at the age of 68. He was born on January 1, 1948 in Eagle Pass to Oscar C. Castaneda, Sr. and Consuelo (Castellanos) Castaneda. He married Carmen Rodriguez in Uvalde on February 2, 1979. He is survived by his wife of 36 years; mother, Consuelo Castaneda of Angleton; daughters, Roxanne Herrera and husband, Abel and Araceli Castaneda, all of San Antonio; sons, Oscar Castaneda III and wife, Lorena of Germany and Orlando Castaneda, Sr. of Colorado Springs, CO; sisters, Linda Garcia of Angleton and Fanny Carrillo and husband, Ernesto of Del Rio; brother, David Castaneda and wife, Ludy of San Antonio; grandchildren, Justin Herrera, Michael Herrera, Austin Herrera, Orlando Castaneda, Jr., Oscar Castaneda IV, and Joshua Castaneda; one great-grandson; and uncle, Gerald Castaneda of San Antonio. He was preceded in death by his father. Funeral mass will be held on Tuesday, February 2, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. Burial will be in Hillcrest Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Justin Herrera, Michael Herrera, Austin Herrera, Orlando Castaneda, Jr., Josha Castaneda, Oscar Castaneda III, and Orlando Castaneda, Sr. Honorary pallbearers will be David Castaneda , Gerald Castaneda, Sergio Porras and Tito Vasquez.
