Oscar G. Navejar, Jr. of San Antonio passed peacefully with his mother and father at his bedside on October 24, 2021 at his residence after battling cancer for one year and seven months. He was born on May 6, 1975 in Uvalde to Oscar Navejar and Elza G. Navejar.
He is survived by his parents of Uvalde; maternal grandparents, Dora and Seferino Gonzalez of Uvalde; paternal grandmother, Diana Navejar of Pleasanton; sisters, Erica Navejar Caldwell and Sonia Navejar both of Uvalde; nieces and nephews, Lee N. Caldwell, Jr., Ashley N. Caldwell, Dylan DeLeon, Destiny DeLeon; great nephew, Ryan Drew Fernandez, and great niece, Reyleen Nevae Mirelez; aunt, Carmen Gomez of Pleasanton; uncle, Sunny Gonzalez of San Antonio.
He is preceded in death by his grandfather; Alejos Navejar, aunt; Olga De La Garza and uncles; Roberto De La Garza and Rodolfo Hill III.
He was our walking miracle. The oncologist had given him three months to live when diagnosed in march of 2020, but he continued to live life with cancer, working between chemo, radiation and clinical trials. A bachelor who loved music collections of vinyl, basketball jerseys, and tennis shoes. Oscar was also a devoted Houston Oilers and Titans fan.
He lived by this motto; "By the decisions that I make today, how will it effect me and others tomorrow?".
Visitation will begin on Tuesday, November 2, 2021 at 12:00 p.m. followed by a rosary at 7:00 p.m. at Rushing-Estes-Knowles Mortuary. A funeral mass will be held on Wednesday, November 3, 2021 at 10:00 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Hillcrest Cemetery.
