Pabla Cruz

Mrs. Pabla Velasquez Cruz of Uvalde passed away on Tuesday, September 20, 2016 at Medina Regional Hospital in Hondo at the age of 76. Mrs. Cruz was born on July 23, 1940 in Dilley, Texas to Juanita (Gonzalez) and Andres Velasquez. She married Tomas Gonzalez Cruz on November 12, 1957 in Crystal City.
She is survived by her husband of 58 years of Uvalde; six daughters, Carolina C. Bonds and husband Keith of Detroit, Michigan; Alicia C. Contreras and husband Fausto of Uvalde; Rosalinda C. Gonzales and husband Max of Uvalde; Guadalupe C. Banks and husband Vernon of San Antonio; Pabla Wickliff and husband Patrick of Austin and Martha Cruz of San Antonio; two sons, Anastacio Velasquez Cruz and wife Christine of Lockhart and Tomas Cruz Jr. of San Marcos; one sister, Florencia Peredia of Los Angeles, California; 11 grandchildren, Christopher Bonds of Austin, TX, April M. Santiago, Anastacio S Cruz Jr, Tomas S Cruz all of San Marcos, TX, Adelso Contreras, Anathalia Contreras both of Uvalde, TX, Cierra Wickliff ,Sarah Luna Banks both of Austin, TX, Rosalee Gonzales, Michael P Gonzales and Serene S. Nace all of Uvalde, TX. ; 6 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Cruz was preceded in death by her parents and son, Andres Cruz.
A rosary will be held on Wednesday at 6:30 pm and Thursday at 7:30 pm at Rushing-Estes-Knowles Mortuary. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, September 23, 2016 at 2:00 pm at Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church with interment to follow at Hillcrest Cemetery
