Paul Gass, Sr.

Paul Irvin Red Gass, Sr. passed into the arms of the Lord on December 8, 2014 at his residence at the age of 88. He was born on March 24, 1926 in Sabinal to Randolph G. Gass and Elsie Havens Gass. Red was an experienced carpenter and contractor. He loved to hunt arrowheads, deer, and fishing. His family was foremost in his life. Red and Roberta Hobbs were married on March 24, 1946 in Uvalde. He is survived by his wife of 68 years daughter, Paula Gilleland and husband, Leslie of Sabinal sons, Paul Gass, Jr. and Mike Gass and wife, Kim, all of Uvalde grandchildren, Shea Gilleland and husband, Joe Contreras Wesley Gilleland Tammi Burris and husband, Cory Paul Gass III and wife, Cody and Coby Gass greatgrandchildren, Robbie Rodriguez and wife, Christina Karlee, Kamryn, Joseph, and Julianna Contreras Cody and Kyle Burris Caitlin, Hailey, and Memphis Gilleland and Taylor Gass greatgreatgrandchildren, AuBriAnah and LaiLeeAnah Rodriguez and numerous nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents brothers, Elmer, Acie, T.J., Lemuel, and D.D. Gass and sisters, Edna Aten, Lida Morgan, and Maureen Cave. Graveside services will be held on Thursday, December 11, 2014 at 2:00 PM at Hillcrest Cemetery. Rev. Lonnie Moore will officiate. Pallbearers will be Wesley Gilleland, Joe Contreras, Paul Gass III, Coby Gass, Cory Burris, Robbie Rodriguez, and Ron Rushing.
