Pedro Ybarra Flores of Uvalde passed away on Saturday, January 17, 2015 in Uvalde at the age of 91. He was born on February 23, 1923 in Uvalde to Bartolo and Aurelia (Ybarra) Flores. He married Florinda Mirelez on May 1, 1950 in San Antonio. He is survived by three daughters, Georgia F. Hernandez of Uvalde; Sandy L. Torres of Uvalde and Linda S. "Lindy" Flores of Glencoe, Minnesota; and son, Federico Flores and wife Yolanda of Uvalde; grandchildren, Orlando Flores and wife Andrea, Paul Flores and wife Debbie, Fred Flores and wife Lori, Ida Hernandez, Stephanie Hernandez, Alfred F. Torres Jr. and wife Veronica, Tiffany Torres and Divina Torres; great grandchildren, Elijah Flores, Emmanuel Flores, Carolina Flores, Noah Flores, Abigail Flores, Christopher Munoz, Alexis Munoz, Alyssa Munoz, Ryan Esquivel, Mark Esquivel, Alfred F. Torres III and Nehemiah F. Torres, in addition numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death his wife, Florinda Flores, parents, one sister Maria "Nena" Negrete, two brothers, Gregorio Flores and Bartolo Flores. He was a well-known painter and wallpaper hanger along with his two brothers. He later branched off and started his own painting business; some of his work can be seen at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Hemisfair Park, Tower of America and the Texas State Capital in Austin. Along with his many talents he was a loving father, provider and a caring person willing to help others in need, who lived a full life. Although as a family we are sad to say goodbye, we rejoice that he has rejoined the love of his life in heaven. A rosary will be held on Monday, January 19, 2015 at 7:00 pm at Rushing-Estes-Knowles Mortuary. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, January 20, 2015 at 11:30 am at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with burial to follow at Hillcrest Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Alfred F. Torres Jr. Christopher Munoz, Ryan Esquivel, Paul Flores, Fred Flores, Orlando Flores and Mark Esquivel. Honorary Pallbearers are Emmanuel Flores, Elijah Flores, Noah Flores, Alfred F. Torres III and Nehemiah Torres.
