Pernia Elizabeth Dennis, age 76, died at home in Uvalde, Tx. on September 26, 2007.
Pernia was a long time resident of Uvalde and employee of Uvalde Memorial Hospital. Pernia battled cancer off and on for over 30 years, her most recent illness, leukemia, was her fourth diagnosis of cancer.
Pernia was born in Crystal City, Tx. on December 31, 1930. She was the daughter of Oscar E. Nancy Wilkins Farley.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Earl Cameron Dennis.
She is survived by four devoted children, her daughters, Vivian Lee Manry of Uvalde; Nancy Elizabeth Chisum of Georgetown; sons, Wayne Cameron Dennis of Uvalde Robert Alan Dennis of Grand Canyon, Az.; brothers, Virgil D. Farley; James Leslie Farley; sister, Leona Wootton; grandsons, Gene H. Chisum, III wife, Teresa; Martin Beuhring Manry; granddaughter, Jade Elizabeth-Reynolds Chisum; son in law, Gene H. Chisum, II.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, September 29, 2007 at 2:00 pm at the First Baptist Church in Uvalde. Interment will follow in Edgewood Cemetery in Crystal City, Tx. Rev. Jerry Scott will officiate.
Memorials may be made the charity of ones choice.
