Petra Ramos

Petra R. Ramos of Uvalde passed away on February 3, 2009 in Main Methodist Hospital in San Antonio, Texas at the age of 91. She was born on May 13, 1917 in Knippa, Texas to Antonio and Elena Rodriguez. She is survived by nine daughters; Juanita Briseno and husband, Carlos; Beatrice Cisneros; Belia Vasquez; Gloria Limones and husband, Pedro; Herlinda Hernandez and husband, Jose; and Guadalupe Gonzales and husband, Natividad all of Uvalde, Texas; Suasana Moya of Hemmet, California; Maria Luisa Godina and husband, Anastacio of Rio Hondo, Texas; and Margarita Elemen and husband, Nelson of San Antonio, Texas; two sons; Mario Ramos and wife Berta of Uvalde, Texas; and Raul Ramos and wife, Cindy of Dallas, Texas; two brothers; Everardo Rodriguez and Porfirio Rodriguez both of San Antonio, Texas; fourty-one grandchildren; fifty-six great grandchildren; four great-great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Mateo Ramos; three sisters; Elena, Ramona and Josefa Rodriguez; two brothers; Juan and Jose Rodriguez; one grandson; Nelson Elemen Jr.; and one great grandson; AJ. Briseno. A rosary will be held on Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday at 7:00 PM at Rushing-Estes Knowles Chapel. Funeral services will be on Saturday, February 7, 2009 at 10:00 AM at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with burial to follow in Hillcrest Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Nat Gonzales Jr., Dino Cisneros, Jose Hernandez Jr., John Paul Hernandez, Richard Briseno, Tony Briseno, Roland Briseno, and Michael Limones. Honorary pallbearers will be Rudy Limones and Carlos Briseno Jr.
