Petra Vasquez

Petra R. Vasquez of Uvalde passed away on July 29, 2013 at Amistad Nursing and Rehabilitation Center at the age of 87. She was born on July 5, 1926 in Uvalde to Jacobo and Margarita De Hoyos Rivera. She was a loving mother, sister, and friend. She is survived by her daughter, Mercedes Aguilar and husband Humberto of Uvalde sisters, Estella Solar of Uvalde, Zopopana Rivera De Chavez of Lago De Moreno, Jalisco, Maria De Pilar Rivera B, Sofia Rivera Wog, and Margarita Rivera Garza all of Monclova, Mexico brothers, Fidencio Rivera of Uvalde, Victorino Rivera, Candelario Rivera, and Silverio Rivera all of Monclova, Mexico grandson, Humberto Trinidad Aguilar of Uvalde and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Trinidad Vasquez and parents. A rosary will be held on Monday and Tuesday at 7:00 p.m. at RushingEstesKnowles Mortuary. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday at 11:00 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Isaias Lopez, Ernesto Garcia, Enrique Garcia, Alfredo Rodriguez, Alfredo Lopez, Mark Gonzales, Tiburcio Vasquez Jr., and Roberto Vasquez. Honorary pallbearer will be Humberto Trinidad Aguilar.
