Ramon T. Cano Jr. of Uvalde passed away on July 9, 2015 at Amistad Nursing Home at the age of 73. Mr. Cano was born on October 24, 1941 in Kosciusko, Texas to Ramon and Narcissa (Trevino) Cano Sr. He married Mona Salazar in Uvalde on July 26, 1986. Mr. Cano is survived by his wife Mona Cano of Uvalde; two daughters, Lorrie Ann Benavides and husband Oscar Jr. of Castroville; Kimberly "Kimi" R. Gutierrez and husband Robert of Uvalde; three sons, Tony Cano and wife Stella of Boerne; Ramon R. Cano of Uvalde and John Anthony Palacios and wife Sarah of Dilley; three sisters, Eva Contreras and Linda Cardona both of Uvalde; Narcissa Flores of Wisconsin; brother, Ramiro T. Cano of Kerrville; nine grandchildren, Kathy Duran, Debbie Lynn Benavides, Raymond Isiah Cano, Gabriel Cano, Chelsey Cano, Isabella Palacios, Jayden Palacios, Kayley Gutierrez and Aaron Gutierrez; two great-grandchildren, Ramon "Trae" Duran and Joseph "JoJo" Duran. Mr. Cano was preceded in death by son, Rodolfo R. Cano, parents, grandson, Matthew Cano and brother, Santiago Cano.
A rosary will be held on Friday, July 10, 2015, Saturday, July 11, 2015 and Sunday, July 12, 2015 at 7:00 pm at Rushing-Estes-Knowles Mortuary. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, July 13, 2015 at 3:00 pm at Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church with burial to follow at Hillcrest Cemetery.
