Ramon Vasquez

Ramon G. Vasquez of Batesville passed away on October 21, 2008 in Methodist Hospital in San Antonio, Texas at the age of 73. He was born on May 5, 1935 in Batesville, Texas to Angel and Roberta Vasquez. He is survived by three daughters; Rosalinda Valdez and husband, Juan, and Josefina Ramos and husband, Hector all of Batesville, Texas and Alicia Vasquez of Iowa; two sons; Arnulfo Vasquez and wife Mary Lou of Uvalde, Texas; and Valentin Vasquez of Omaha, Nebraska; four sisters; Pieda Almanza of Oregon; Marta Escamilla of Houston, Texas; Ofelia Hernandez and Ester Garza both of Batesville, Texas; five brothers; Elias Vasquez, Benito Vasquez, Lucio Vasquez, Ofelio Vasquez and Angel Vasquez Jr. all of Batesville, Texas; eleven grandchildren; twenty two great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and wife, Lydia Medrano Vasquez; two brothers; Mario Vasquez and Ramon Vasquez Jr. A rosary will be held on Wednesday and Thursday at Rushing-Estes-Knowles Chapel at 7:00 PM. Funeral services will be on Friday, October 24, 2008 at 3:00 PM at St. Patricks Catholic Church in Batesville, Texas with burial to follow in Batesville Cemetery.
