Ramon P. Vasquez formally of Uvalde passed away on April 29, 2015 in Kerrville at the age of 86. Mr. Vasquez was born on October 12, 1928 in Batesville to Tomas and Maria (Prado) Vasquez. He is survived by seven daughters, Lupe Bodie and husband Bill of Kerrville; Elida Trevino and husband Ben of Uvalde; Mona Neunfeldt and husband Robert of Anoka, Minn.; Juanita Kruchten and husband Lawrence of Webster, Minn.; Sylvia Dunn of Greeley, Colo.; Rosa Elia Vasquez of Greeley, Colo.; Norma Vasquez of Uvalde; three sons, Edward Vasquez of Victoria; Mario Vasquez and Ray Vasquez both from Greeley, Colo.; two sisters, Esperanza Olvedo of Uvalde and Estella Martinez of South Dakota; two brothers, Tomas Vasquez of Greeley, Colo. and Eugene Vasquez of Columbus, Georgia; twenty-nine grandchildren, fifty-four great-grandchildren and thirteen great-great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews. Mr. Vasquez was preceded in death by his wife, Beatrice Lopez Vasquez, parents and son, Arturo Vasquez.
A prayer service will be held on Sunday, May 3, 2015 at 7:00 pm at Rushing-Estes-Knowles Mortuary. Funeral services will be Monday, May 4, 2015 at 10:00 am at Rushing-Estes-Knowles Mortuary with burial to follow at Hillcrest Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Tony Vasquez, Ben Trevino Jr., Matthew Torres, Anthony Torres, Norma Vasquez and Michael Garcia. Honorary pallbearer Elizabeth Garcia.
