Ramon Velasquez

Ramon H. Velasquez of Uvalde passed away on September 27, 2014 at his residence at the age of 79. He was born on February 22, 1935 in Poteet to Lazaro and Luz Hernandez Velasquez. He married Esperanza Rodriguez on January 23, 1955 in Uvalde. He survived by his wife of 59 years of Uvalde daughters, Delia V. Trevino and husband Jorge of Lampasas and Ida V. Davila and husband Robert of Dallas sons, Ramon R. Velasquez Jr. and wife Elizabeth, Edgar Velasquez, Rudy R. Velasquez and wife Carol, Elias R. Velasquez and wife Beatriz, Ruben R. Velasquez and wife Lucinda and Inez R. Velasquez and wife Angela all of Uvalde brothers, Remijio H. Velasquez and wife Blanca, Johnny H. Ruiz all of Uvalde and Cruz H. Velasquez and wife Mary of Midland 20 grandchildren 35 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents sister, Hortencia H. Guzman and brothers, Inez H. Velasquez and Lazaro H. Velasquez. A rosary will be held on Monday and Tuesday at 7:00 p.m. at RushingEstesKnowles Mortuary. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, October 1, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Ramon R. Velasquez III, Richard V. Trevino, Elias V. Velasquez Jr., Sonny V. Velasquez, Santos Rivas and Vincent V. Davila.
