Raul Cantu

Raul De Luna Cantu of Batesville passed away on February 16, 2008 in Baptist Hospital in San Antonio, Texas at the age of 59. He was born on March 3, 1948 in Cotulla, Texas to Leandro and Manuela Cantu. He is survived by daughters; Aida Mercado; Lee Ann Cantu and Tracy Cantu all of Batesville; and Laura Cantu of Algin Illinois; sons; Raul Cantu Jr. and Leandro Cantu both of Batesville, Texas; and Frank Cervantes of Brazoria, Texas; sisters; Janie Platts of Batesville; and Sylvia Cantu of Uvalde; brother; Isidro Cantu of Batesville, Texas; nine grandchildren; and two great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother; Leandro Cantu Jr.; and one son; Frank Cantu. A rosary will be held on Tuesday, February 19, 2008 at 7:00 pm at The Rushing-Estes-Knowles Chapel. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, February 20, 2008 at 10:00 am at St. Patricks Catholic Church in Batesville, Texas with burial to follow in Batesville Cemetery. Father Anthony Mendoza will officiate. Pallbearers will be David Trevino, Brian Platts, Juan Roberto Gonzales, Raymundo Galindo, Robert Galindo, and Isidro Cantu Jr.
