Raul Diaz

Raul Barrera Diaz Sr., of Uvalde passed away on April 29, 2011 in San Antonio at the age of 86. He was born on September 8, 1924 in Knippa, Texas to Eugenio and Guadalupe Barrera Diaz. He married Eva Cuellar in Uvalde on March 29, 1946. He is survived by his wife Eva of 65 years son, Raul Diaz Jr. and wife Norma of San Antonio and grandson Robert Joseph Diaz of San Antonio two sisters, Refugia Cuellar of Uvalde and Carmen Vela of Elkhart, Indiana three brothers, Gilbert Diaz of Uvalde, Pablo Diaz of Greenacres, Florida and Eugenio Diaz Jr. of Wauseon, Ohio and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, Anita Alfaro and Alice De Leon. A rosary will be held on Sunday May 1, 2011 at 7:00 at the RushingEstesKnowles Chapel in Uvalde. Funeral mass will be held on Monday May 2, 2011 at 9:30 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Cemetery.
