Raul Nolasco, Sr. of Uvalde passed away on Saturday, August 18, 2018 at Uvalde Memorial Hospital at the age of 93. Raul was born on February, 15, 1925 in Monclova, Coahuila, Mexico to Felicitas (Jiménez) and Eugenio Nolasco. He married Rita Valdez on 1949 in Zaragoza, Coahuila, Mexico. Originally from Blewett, Texas and was employed by Uvalde Rock Asphalt Mines. He is survived by his wife of 69 years; one daughter, Raquel Frankenberg of Austin; three sons, Raul Nolasco, Jr., Rene Nolasco and wife Johanna and Ruben Nolasco all of Uvalde; one brother, Rogelio Nolasco of Piedras Negras; nine grandchildren Jessica Phillips of Austin, Holly Crawford of Ft. Worth, Sean Frankenberg of New York City, New York, Taylor Frankenberg of San Antonio, Jennifer Nolasco of Frisco, Christopher Nolasco of Frisco, Megan Wills of Ft. Worth, Kerry Nolasco of Uvalde and Lauren Frietag of Uvalde; 10 great grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Raul was preceded in death by his parents and a son Ruben Nolasco.
A rosary will be recited on Monday, August 20, 2018 at 7:00 pm and a Vigil service will be held on Tuesday, August 21, 2018 at 7:00 pm at Rushing-Estes-Knowles Mortuary. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Sacred Heart Roman Catholic church on Wednesday, August 22, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. with interment to follow at Hillcrest Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Raul Nolasco, Jr., Rene Nolasco, Ruben Nolasco, Kerry Nolasco, Ricky Frietag, Damon Butler and Mitch Crawford.
