Raul Vasquez

Raul Vasquez of Sabinal passed away on September 25, 2022 at his residence at the age of 86.

He was born on July 28, 1936 in Durango, Mexico to Adelina (Valadez) and Trinidad Vasquez.

He married Juanita Gomez in Sabinal on September 12, 1957.

He is survived by daughters, Maria Gonzales and husband, Jesse Lopez, Rosie Salinas and husband, Jesse Salinas, and Josie Mendoza all of Sabinal; sons, Raul Vasquez, Jr. and wife, Pat of Hobbs, New Mexico and Fernando Vasquez of Sabinal; sisters, Adelina Ortiz of Houston, Angela Davila and Tomasa Lopez both of Piedras Negras, Mexico; brother, Alfonso Vasquez of Piedras Negras; 12 grandchildren; 25 great grandchildren; 2 great-great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his wife; parents; two sisters, Jesusa Vasquez and Santos Vasquez, and brother, Trinidad Vasquez.

Visitation will begin on Tuesday, September 27th at 2:00 p.m. followed by a rosary at 7:00 p.m. A funeral mass will be held on Wednesday, September 28th at 2:00 p.m. at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church.  Interment will follow at St. Patrick’s Catholic Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Jesse Salinas, Jr., Robert Negrete, Jr., Felipe Negrete, George Gonzales, Jr., Justin Gonzales, Christopher Negrete, Robert Negrete, III and Joshua Ysassi.
