Raye Elizabeth Dermody nee Davidson, 82, of Sonora, Texas passed away Saturday, April 12, 2014 at the Schleicher County Nursing Home.
She was born August 10,1931 in Crystal City, Texas, to Roy Young Davidson, Sr. and Sue Goodson Davidson. She was a 1948 Graduate of Crystal City High School. She was married to Bernard Beany Casper Dermody on June 30, 1961 in Uvalde, Texas. She and her husband, Bernard Dermody lived in Kenedy, Texas many years before moving to Sonora, Texas. In Kenedy, she was a great community leader, serving on the Chamber of Commerce board for several years and was well known in and around the community for her tireless help to others. Mrs. D, as her students called her, was a teacher and coach at Kenedy High School where she was loved and respected by all of her students. She was a member of the Progressive Study Club, Delta Kappa Gamma. She also loved to judge UIL competitions to stay connected with the school and children.
She is survived by, husband, Bernard Dermody, of Sonora, her four children sons, Byron Dermody of Kenedy and Dean Dermody and wife, Louise of Sonora, daughters, Terry Brown and husband, Glynn of Soldonta, Alaska and Dixie Radicke and husband, Herbert of Uvalde, one brother, Roy Young Davidson, Jr. and wife Randa of Batesville and a sister, Virgina Ann Davidson of Batesville, nephews, Raice Davidson and Raine Hobbs niece, Ranell Borders and eleven grandchildren Glynn Brown Jessica of Port Angeles, Washington Patti BooksAaron of Soldotna, Alaska, Desiree Cvek Benjamin of Coal Valley, Illinois Kristin LightKincaid of Uvalde, Tx. Amber Oberkrom Trevin of Houston, Tx. Holden RadickeKarla of Uvalde, Texas Colyer Dermody, Sidney Dermody and Slade Dermody of Sonora, Texas Blayne Dermody and Brett Dermody of Kenedy, Texas. and eleven great grandchildren Chloe Brown, Kelsie Brown and Keira Brown of Port Angeles, Washington Emily Books and Brier Books of Soldotna, Alaska Ruby Cvek and Brayden Cvek of Coal Valley, Illinois Kincaid Light and Davis Light of Uvalde, Texas Madeline King of Houston, Texas Pierce Radicke of Uvalde, Texas.
Preceded in death by her father, Roy Young Davidson, Sr and mother Sue Goodson Davidson and greatgrandson Cade York Brown.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, April 18, 2014 at 11:00 AM at RushingEstesKnowles Mortuary with burial to follow in Loma Vista Cemetery.
