Rebecca Vaughn

Rebecca Garcia Vaughn of Smithville, formerly of Uvalde passed away on April 19, 2018 in Bastrop at the age of 81. She was born on June 5, 1936 in Uvalde to Natividad and Prajedes (Reyes) Garcia, Sr.
She later moved to Jerome, Idaho where she met her husband, Bruce Vaughn, they had 3 daughters. They later divorced in 1972. She then moved to El Paso, Texas where she lived for 26 years. She was employed at Levi Strauss for 24 years. After retiring from Levi Strauss she moved to Del Rio, Texas, where she enjoyed her passion of gardening. She later moved to Smithville, Texas in 2016.
She is survived by her daughters; Rosa Arredondo of Smithville, Louise Poole and husband, Kevin of Island Park, Idaho, and Bonnie Navarro of El Paso; brother, Natividad Garcia Jr of Dallas, 8 grandchildren, and 11 great grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Anita Garcia, and Rafaela Perez; and brother Pablo Garcia.
Visitation will begin on Friday, April 27, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. at Rushing-Estes-Knowles Mortuary. A graveside service will be held on Friday, April 27, 1:00 p.m. at Hillcrest Cemetery. Fr. Ralph Reyes will officiate.
Pallbearers will be Joseph Arredondo, Michael Navarro, Robert Duran and Adam Figueroa.
