Refugio Garcia

Refugio Garcia was born in Altamira Municipal of Jerecuaro, Guanajuato, on July 25th, 1937. He was the oldest of 12 siblings, 6 women and 6 men. He married the love of his life, Maria Guadalupe Aguilar, at 20 years old. Refugio spent the greater part of his life working in agriculture, first in Mexico and later in the United States. He worked in the fields of California, Texas, and Oregon. He enjoyed planting and harvesting. Between Maria and Refugio, they formed their own family of 10 children, 4 men and 6 women. Maria Guadalupe and all the children survive their father Refugio, with a lot of grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Refugio enjoyed watching his family grow with each generation. His marriage lasted around 60 years.

He is survived by his children, in order: Jose Luis Garcia and wife, Maria Elena, of Perryton, Maria Etelvina Huerta and husband, Manuel, Hector Garcia and wife, Erma, Maria de los Angeles Rios and husband, Salvador, Maria Isabel Juarez and husband, Ruben, Guadalupe Herrera and husband, Victor all of Perryton, Abel Garcia and wife, Patricia, of Fredericksburg, Teresa Becceril and husband, Santos, Refugio Garcia, Jr. and wife, Marela, Manuela Pena and husband, Jesus all of Perryton; sisters, Augustina Pacheco of Guanajuato, Mexico, Carolina Rios of Mexico City, Aurora Elizondo of Searcy, Arkansas, Reyna Garcia of Mexico City, Milagros Garcia of Blanco, Juana Tinajero of Denver Colorado; brothers, Gabriel Garcia and Fernando Garcia both of Guanajuato, Mexico, Manuel Garcia of Searcy Arkansas, and Gregorio Garcia of Guanajuato, Mexico.
He was cared dearly by all.

He is preceded in death by his parents and brother, Benjamin Garcia.

A rosary will be held on Thursday at 7:00 p.m. at Rushing-Estes-Knowles Mortuary. A funeral mass will be held on Friday, December 14, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church.
Cremation is under the direction of Rushing-Estes-Knowles Mortuary.


Refugio Garcia nacio en la Altamira, Municipio de Jerecuaro, Guanajuato, en 25 de julio del 1937. Fue el mayor de entre 12 hermanos, 6 hombres y 6 mujeres. Se caso con el amor de su vida, Maria Guadalupe Aguilar, a los 20 anos de edad. Refugio dedico la mayor parte de su trabajo a la agricultura, primero en Mexico y después en Estados Unidos. Trabajo en los campos de California, Tejas, y Oregon. Disfruto de sembrar y cosechar. Entre Maria y Refugio, formaron su familia de 10 hijos, 4 hombres y 6 mujeres. Maria Guadalupe y todos los hijos sobreviven a su padre Refugio, con una gran cantidad de nietos y bisnietos. Refugio disfruto de ver a su familia crecer con cada generación. Su matrimonio duro alrededor de 60 anos.

Es sobrevivido por su hijos, en orden: Jose Luis Garcia y Maria Etelvina Huerta and family. Hector Garcia and family. Maria de los Angeles Rios and family. Maria Isabel Juarez and family. Guadalupe Herrera and family. Abel Garcia and family. Teresa Becceril and family. Refugio Garcia and family. Manuela Pena and family. He was cared dearly by all.
